- Managing a Landscape for the Long Term
Our work
The Nyika-Vwaza Co-management Trust is responsible for the long-term management of Nyika National Park and Vwaza Marsh Wildlife Reserve.
Through a co-management approach, the Trust works alongside government, communities and conservation partners to protect biodiversity, strengthen local economies and secure the long-term sustainability of the landscape.
A holistic vision for protected area stewardship
Effective protected area management depends on more than conserving wildlife. It requires healthy ecosystems, strong community partnerships and sustainable financing, all supported by good governance, professional management and long-term investment in local leadership and institutional capacity.
Protected Area Management
Every decision and investment made by the Trust supports a single objective: the effective long-term management of the Nyika-Vwaza landscape.
This work is delivered through three interconnected pillars.
