Nature turning on the taps – water scheme brings safe drinking water

The President of Malawi, His Excellency Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, today switched on the taps of a transformative community development project, the Nyika-Vwaza Gravity-fed Piped Water Scheme. This brings safe drinking water for the first time to 18,000 people living in the vicinity of Nyika National Park and Vwaza Marsh Wildlife Reserve. Over the next ten years, up to 33,000 Malawians will gain access to the piped water through the scheme.
